Speaker: Lillian Mullin. State Department (ret.); will discuss the role of the State Dept. in helping

Americans while traveling overseas.

To Our Advertisers: We would like to thank all of our advertisers for supporting the Cranbury Lions. If you do not wish to receive The Jargon every month, please notify the editor, so your name can be removed from the mailing list. Thank you.

The Pancake Breakfast was it’s usual success, contributing a net profit to our Projects Budget of approximately $2000. Thanks to all our fellow Lions who set-up, cooked, served and cleaned up, with special thanks to Lions Ed Lawson and Rich Pape for their efforts in making this logistical nightmare look easy.

Although we got a late start, the Club is going to try to collect “Toys for Tots”, to be distributed in time for Christmas to needy children in our area. If you would like to donate a toy, contact Bob Virgadamo before 12/15. The toy must be new and unwrapped. There is no minimum or maximum dollar amount.

At the December District meeting, President Tom Reilly accepted a Certificate of Appreciation from District 16-D, which was awarded to the Cranbury Lions for our support during the New Eyemobile Unit Fund Drive.

There will be a new event this summer. The Board of Directors has voted to hold a family picnic in lieu of the Spring Fling Dinner Dance. The date set for the picnic is Sunday, June 10,2001, and will be held in Village Park. More details will follow.

If you are not receiving The Jargon via e-mail, and you have e-mail capability, please notify the Editor. By reducing our postage expense, we can reduce our operating expenses. If we can send The Jargon out electronically, we will save nearly $300 per year in postage. Your e-mail address will not be distributed outside of the Club, and will only be used for The Jargon and other necessary Club business. Your participation in this program benefits all of us.

The Second Annual Trenton Thunder Baseball Picnic will be on Sunday, August 12, 2001. More information will follow by February, 2001.
