Welcome to the New Millennium!
A giant Attaboy to Lion Frank Marlowe for his efforts to make this years Holiday Party one to remember; from the buzz around Town the week following, everyone had a great time. And, of course, many thanks to Lions Judson and Monty Hagerty for supplying all the poinsettias for the party.
Given the limited time-frame we had, our Toys for Tots Program was a fair success. Although we put the program together and collected toys within only two weeks, we collected 26 toys, which were distributed by Golf Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marines. Many thanks to those who donated to this very worthwhile cause.
The Annual 16D Charity Ball will be held at McAteers Restaurant, on Saturday, March 17, 2001. Tickets are $35 per person; black tie, optional. If you would like to attend, please contact Tom Reilly or Ed Lawson ASAP.
If you have e-mail capability, but are receiving The Jargon via regular mail, please notify the Editor. If we can send The Jargon out via e-mail, the reduction in postage can save over $300 in our annual operating expenses. Your e-mail address will not be distributed outside of the Club, and will only be used for The Jargon and other necessary Club business. Your participation in this program benefits all of us.
The First Annual Lions Family Picnic will be held in Village Park on Sunday, June 10, 2001. Members are encouraged to invite prospective members and their families. More details will follow, shortly.
The Second Annual Trenton Thunder Baseball Picnic will be on Sunday, August 12, 2001. More information will follow in February, 2001.
