Speaker: Tara Kelley, The Cranbury Lions’ Ambassador to France. Tara is the student we sponsored for a visit to a Lions’ youth camp and a home-stay with a Lions’ family in Southern France; she will give us her perspective of the French Lions organization's effort to foster international understanding and friendship.

Things To Know
Well, here we are in the “dog days”, and since information has not exactly been pouring in this month, The Jargon is a little short.
The Committee Chairperson Assignments, as recommended by that Committee, was ratified at the July Board of Directors Meeting, with the following changes: Lion Lou Mitchell was added to the Health and Welfare Committee. Additionally, Lion Andre Mento has volunteered to Chair or Co-Chair a committee and that appointment will be made shortly.
If you are going to the Trenton Thunder Game on Sunday, August 12, 2001, and have not picked up your tickets, please contact Bob Virgadamo immediately to arrange for pick-up.
Our advertising revenue is up this year. Shane Shapiro, the Club’s new Advertising Chair, is going to try to build on this increase. He is in the process of building a committee; please be generous with your time. If anyone has an “advertising lead” please contact Shane.
Reminders
If you have e-mail capability, but are receiving The Jargon via regular mail, please notify the Editor by phone or via e-mail at BobV@cranbury.org. If we can send The Jargon out via e-mail, the reduction in postage can save over $300 in our annual operating expenses. Your e-mail address will not be distributed outside of the Club, and will only be used for The Jargon and other necessary Club business. Your participation in this program benefits all of us. Thank you.
The summer meeting schedule will be in place during the months of July and August. There is only one meeting per month, on the third Wednesday. Board meetings will be the Tuesday evening before. Appropriate summer dress is allowable during the summer months.
Any member who learns of the sickness or death of another member, or a member’s family, or any other similar “emergency” should contact Bob Virgadamo to activate the “phone tree”, so that all our members may be notified.
Let’s help our Program Chair, Frank Marlowe; if you have any suggestions for speakers, please give Frank a call.
