1. ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP Membership in the Club shall be limited to all persons, male or female, over the age of eighteen (18) years, who reside in Cranbury Township, and non-residents whose principal civic interests are in the Township of Cranbury.
2. TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP All Members shall be classified within one of the following five (5) Types of Membership:
3. All references to time in years in the above Sections C and D, of the above Paragraph 2 – Types of Membership, may be modified, for or towards any individual Member, based on extreme extenuating circumstances, and by unanimous action of the Board of Directors.
4. ELECTION A. Membership shall be acquired by invitation only. B. A prospective Member shall be sponsored by a Cranbury Lion, (hereinafter known as the Sponsoring Member), in good standing. C. The Sponsoring Member shall obtain a signed invitation, in the form of a completed application form, from the prospective member, together with the then current, prescribed membership fee, and submit same to the Chairperson of the Membership Committee and/or directly to the Board of Directors. D. The Board of Directors may approve such membership, at its discretion. Upon approval, the Prospective Member is then eligible for induction into the Club. E. Transferred and reinstated Members shall be approved in the same manner.
5. EXPULSION A. Attendance – the Board of Directors may, but is not required to, expel from the Club, any member who, without acceptable cause, absents himself from four consecutive Regular meetings. B. Financial – If a member’s dues become delinquent for more than two consecutive quarters:
C. Conduct – A member may be expelled from the Club, if in the opinion of the Board of Directors, such Member has exhibited conduct unbecoming a Lion. Such expulsion shall be effected by either:
D. In any of the aforesaid events of this Paragraph 5, the Member involved shall be given ample, written notice of the intended action, and the opportunity to be heard.
6. RESIGNATION A. The resignation of a Member shall become effective upon written notice to the President and/or the Secretary of the Club. Such resignation will be considered “in good standing”, provided there is no outstanding fiscal indebtedness to the Club. B. At the request of the departing Member in good standing, the Club Secretary shall prepare, over the Club President’s signature, a letter of introduction to another Lions club. |
