Cranbury Housing Associates
Cranbury Housing Associates is a non-profit organization
established in 1963 for the purpose of implementing and managing the Township's
affordable housing programs. The organization has a twelve member Board of
Directors. Membership in CHA is open to the public for a small fee.
Piazza and Associates, Inc. (P&A) is a property
management company with which CHA has contracted to manage its affordable
housing properties. P&A handles maintenance of the properties as well as
the applications for affordable housing.

Information
- A group of Cranbury citizens renovated a run-down building off Old
Cranbury Road for homeless workers.
- The group was formalized to address the housing problems of the
Cranbury community by creating a permanent organization to be known as Cranbury
Housing Associates (CHA).
- CHA started as a profit-making organization and then changed to a
non-profit organization within a few years.
- Between 1966 - 1969 CHA submitted a proposal to the Federal
Department of Housing. CHA was awarded $ 78,000 for " self-help development ."
- Today, CHA manages the affordable housing plan which calls for 153
units as required under the Mount Laurel ruling.
- CHA developed & manages 24 unit senior housing adjacent to the
Cranbury Elementary School.
- CHA presently developing 40 low-cost housing units on two sites
donated by local developers.
